TNT again awarded global ‘Supersector leader’ in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes

Amsterdam – Today TNT NV was again awarded “Supersector leader” for ‘Industrial Goods and Services’ (including ‘Industrial transportation’) of the 2010 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI). This was the conclusion of a report published in Zurich by SAM, a sustainability investment specialist, which assessed the sustainability performance of over 1,300 listed companies. TNT will remain included in the DJSI Europe and DJSI World, comprising more than 300 companies that represent the top 10% of the leading sustainability companies in the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Market Index.

TNT to invest €170 million in Chinese domestic road delivery services

Shanghai – TNT today announces plans to invest €170 million over the next few years to strengthen its leadership position in the Chinese domestic road delivery market. The investment will enable TNT Hoau, TNT’s road distribution arm in China, to enhance its day-definite road distribution network, introduce new services, and hire additional staff.

TNT unveils China’s first fully electric delivery fleet

Amsterdam – TNT today unveiled the express industry’s first full electric vehicle fleet in China. The introduction of an initial number of five electric delivery vehicles further bolsters the company’s efforts in reducing its carbon emissions. Peter Bakker, together with government officials such as Camiel Eurlings, Dutch Minister of Transport, unveiled the first electric vehicle at the Responsible Transport Forum at the Dutch Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo.

RS Components awards new contract to TNT Express

Amsterdam – RS Components, the world’s largest distributor of electronics and maintenance products, has awarded TNT Express a new contract to carry out all its domestic deliveries in France and Italy. This is new business for TNT in Italy and a contract renewal for TNT in France.

New TNT Post rates from 1 January 2011

Amsterdam – TNT N.V. today announces that new rates for sending mail within the Netherlands and to destinations within Europe will apply at TNT Post per 1 January 2011. The basic domestic-mail rate for the Netherlands will increase by two euro-cents to €0.46; for mail to other European destinations the basic rate will increase to €0.79, also a two cent rise. The rate for mail being sent outside Europe will remain at its present €0.95. This price increase falls within the legal limits for price developments and is lower than the rate of inflation in the period since the start of 2007. With its new rates, TNT Post continues to charge one of the lowest postage rates in Europe (see enclosure).

TNT appoints Bernard Bot as Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Amsterdam - Today, TNT N.V. announces that it has appointed Bernard Bot as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). TNT will notify his appointment as member of the Board of Management to the shareholders in the upcoming AGM in April 2011. The appointment follows the departure of CFO and member of the Board of Management Henk van Dalen who will leave the company following his appointment as CFO at VimpelCom LTD. Henk van Dalen will formally leave TNT at the end of September but his day-to-day involvement effectively ended on 1 August 2010.

Trade union members approve CLA for TNT Express

Amsterdam - Following the arrangements set out in the TNT Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) in March this year, a separate TNT Express CLA has now been agreed with the trade unions Abvakabo FNV, BVPP, CNV Publieke Zaak and FNV Bondgenoten for the entities TNT Express Nederland B.V., TNT Express Road Network B.V, TNT Innight B.V. and TNT Head Office B.V. The in-principle agreement has been presented to and approved by the union members. The CLA will run from 1 April 2010 to 1 July 2011. Employees will receive a structural wage increase of 0.5% from 1 April 2010, 0.5% from 1 October 2010 and 0.7% from 1 April 2011. They will also be awarded a one-off gross payment of 250 euros. This CLA will apply to some 2,300 TNT employees in the Netherlands.

TNT increases air freight capacity between China and Europe

Amsterdam, Shanghai - TNT is increasing its air freight capacity between China and Europe to meet growing demand. Starting today, the company is scheduling an additional Boeing 747-400 ERF aircraft between China and its European air hub in Liege, Belgium (as announced on 8 April 2010). TNT will increase its service frequency to six flights per week from Shanghai and five flights per week from Hong Kong. TNT is responding to the stronger demand in China for its air services, especially from the high-tech and fashion industries.

TNT Post takes next step in its e-commerce strategy

Amsterdam – TNT Post has taken an important next step in implementing its e-commerce strategy by acquiring the e-retail specialist Kowin. With this transaction TNT Post adds expertise to its e-commerce chain in the field of online shopping and strengthens TNT Post’s capabilities as one stop service provider in the vastly growing online market. Parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction.

TNT launches Moscow-Liege service

Amsterdam – TNT Express today launches a five day per week air cargo service linking Moscow and its main European hub Liege, via Warsaw. The new route, operated by a B737-300 providing 16 tonnes of capacity, will secure and speed up the expedition of time-critical shipments to and from Russia. Examples include automotive parts, clinical supplies and biological samples, such as blood and human tissues.

Announcement conversion rate final dividend 2009

Amsterdam – On 8 April 2010, the Annual General Meeting established the final dividend over 2009 at € 0.35 per ordinary share. The final dividend is payable, at the shareholder’s election, either wholly in ordinary shares or wholly in cash.

TNT announces results of Annual General Meeting of Shareholders

Amsterdam – TNT N.V. is announcing that the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) held today adopted the 2009 financial statements and determined the dividend over 2009 at € 0.53 per ordinary share, duly noting that € 0.18 has already been paid in cash or shares as an interim dividend. The final dividend will be € 0.35 per ordinary share, to be made available in cash or in ordinary shares.

TNT union members approve CLA and social plan

Hoofddorp – Union members employed at TNT have approved the in-principle agreement on a new collective labour agreement (CLA) and a social plan. The social plan will be in effect until 31 December 2012 and the collective agreement will run from 1 April 2009 to 31 December 2011. The agreements concern all 31,000 TNT employees in the Netherlands, with the exception of the mail deliverers and Saturday delivery staff, who are covered by separate collective agreements.

TNT makes importing easier with new online import system

Amsterdam – TNT Express announces the worldwide launch of its new Express Import system which gives customers complete control over their import shipments. This web-based tool lets companies order the collection of import shipments from around 170 countries with quotations and billing in their local currency to better control shipping costs.

TNT Hoau completes day-definite road distribution

Guangzhou, China – TNT Hoau, TNT’s road distribution arm in China, today announced the completion of its nationwide day-definite road distribution network. During the past two months, TNT Hoau extended the coverage to Chengdu, Chongquing, Zhengzhou, Xian, Yantai and Xiamen. The company now offers guaranteed day-definite ground delivery to 26 of the biggest cities in the country, using 246 day-definite linehauls. The network covers 800 depots throughout China, with a large concentration in the major economic regions, including the Yangtze river delta, the Pearl River Delta, and the Bohai Bay.
